For out-of-network clients, we can provide a superbill and assist with reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions—we're happy to work with you to keep treatment affordable.

Do you see patients in person?

No, Open Mind Wellness is a telepsychiatry practice. All appointments are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. A link will be sent to you before your scheduled appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We are in-network with the following insurance providers:

  • Texas: BCBS TX, Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United Healthcare/Oxford, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oscar Health

  • Illinois: BCBS IL, Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United Healthcare/Oxford, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oscar Health

  • Colorado: Aetna, Cigna

We use Headway and Alma for insurance billing. You will be invited to create a profile through these platforms for transparency on your estimated cost and to submit your insurance information.

Do you accept self-pay patients?

Yes, we offer self-pay options:

  • Initial Visit: $300

  • Follow-Up Visits: $180

Your credit card will be charged automatically at the time of your appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you book an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you. We do not double-book appointments.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance or missed appointments will be charged the full visit fee.

  • Insurance does not cover missed appointment fees.

  • After two missed appointments, you will be discharged from the practice.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

No, we do not prescribe controlled substances, including stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin) or benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Klonopin).

What ages do you treat?

We provide psychiatric care for adults aged 18-64.

What conditions do you treat?

We specialize in treating:

  • Anxiety disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, OCD, etc.)

  • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Mood disorders (Bipolar Disorder, Cyclothymia, etc.)

  • ADHD

  • Stress-related conditions

Do you offer genetic testing?

Yes! We offer genetic testing to help personalize your medication management. Genetic testing provides insights into how your body may metabolize certain psychiatric medications, helping to guide more effective treatment decisions.

What treatment approaches do you use?

We take a comprehensive approach that includes:

  • Medication management for mental health conditions

  • Brief therapy techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices

  • Lifestyle recommendations for diet, exercise, and stress management

Can you diagnose mental health conditions?

Yes, we provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and can diagnose conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, and ADHD.

How do I get started?

  1. Schedule an appointment through our website.

  2. Complete the intake forms before your visit.

  3. Attend your virtual appointment via our secure platform.

How often will I need follow-up appointments?

  • Initially: Every 2-4 weeks to monitor response to medication.

  • Ongoing medication management: Every 3 months once stable.

What if I have a psychiatric emergency or feel suicidal?

If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please seek immediate help:
